Painting floors is specialist work. So is the development and production of the lacquers, in which RIGO Verffabriek excels. "A good floor lacquer must be easy to apply and apply without set-off, have a very nice flow and dry quickly and well," says Thomas Viellevoye, account manager at RIGO Verffabriek. "To do this correctly, good cooperation between laboratory, factory and processors is essential. This is something we place a very high priority on."
The family business from IJmuiden listens very carefully to the wishes and challenges of floor layers and parquet installers. "On this basis, we develop innovative lacquers, the first variant of which is always tested internally and very intensively. Only when the lacquer meets all our (quality) standards do the so-called master tests follow. We invite various processors to test the paint in their own practice and to share their unvarnished opinion. On this basis, further optimizations are made where necessary, after which the lacquers become available for the broad market."
A great example of a paint innovation developed for and with the market is SKYLT. "SKYLT was developed for wooden floors, but can also be used excellently on wooden furniture, tabletops, walls and mineral substrates such as concrete and stucco," says Viellevoye. "A unique feature of SKYLT is that the lacquer retains the untreated look of wood."
SKYLT is available in two variants. Whereas SKYLT Original is intended for light woods (Oak, Ash, Beech, ...), SKYLT Titanium is very suitable for dark woods (Wenge, Teak, Walnut, ...). The strong and solid lacquer is ideal for intensively used rooms.
For situations where a warmer look is desired, Viellevoye recommends the STEP 2K. This parquet lacquer is available in several gloss variations and is very easy to apply. "Unique to STEP 2K is its long potlife of no less than 72 hours! In addition, the
hardener isocyanate-free. Thanks to this innovation, much less paint is wasted. With this, we perfectly match the sustainability ambitions of many companies, without sacrificing high-quality paint quality."
