How lighting design brings Hôtel Font Mourier to life

Located on the hills of Cogolin near Saint-Tropez, Hôtel Font Mourier is a luxury retreat in the midst of Provencal nature. It was recently fitted with a unique lighting design that enhances the magic of the location. French company Quilex Lighting used in-lite lighting to complete the atmosphere of this hotel.

The owner of Quilex Lighting, Yohan Fantino, already realized many lighting designs with in-lite lighting over the years for the C. family, owners of several luxury hotels on the Côte d'Azur. Since they were very satisfied with these projects, Fantino was given a free hand this time to create a lighting design for Hôtel Font Mourier. Fantino says, "I was entrusted with the task of making the outdoor spaces a place full of poetry and conviviality. Together with a landscaper, we created a design in which guests find both privacy and meeting spaces."

Low-voltage lighting for a subtle, enveloping atmosphere

To achieve the intended atmosphere, Quilex Lighting chose low-voltage lighting from in-lite, known for its warm light (2700-3000K) and elegant, subtle fixtures. A total of 320 in-lite fixtures were installed over an area of 4,000 m². "In-lite's fixtures, with their innovative design and atmospheric light quality, enhance the natural beauty of the environment," Fantino explains. "This soft and enveloping light ensures that the lighting is present, but in an understated way, presenting the landscape in all its glory."

A special feature of the design is the "Star Path," a path through the hotel garden illuminated by in-lite's FUSION spotlights. The path is formed by points of light that create a sparkling "Galaxy" of light. Bronos Polders, Senior LAB Specialist at in-lite, emphasizes the effect of this design, "With this, we have created an atmosphere that guides visitors through the hotel garden and invites them to relax."

Harmony between lighting and nature

Not only are the contours of the garden and the architecture of the hotel accentuated, the illuminated trees along the paths add depth to the landscape. Fixtures such as the MINI SCOPE, SCOPE, BIG SCOPE and BIG SCOPE NARROW are strategically placed to accentuate the flora while creating tranquility and balance throughout the design. "We take pride in the fact that our lighting contributes to the luxurious and poetic atmosphere of the venue."
