Every month the Weert-based company Trespa chooses "The Project of the Month. In Archicomm we present in each edition the projects of the month from that period. 

Thus, at the end of 2025, exactly 12 nominated projects will be on the list for the election Trespa / Archicomm Project of the Year. Last January, the election was held for the second time. During a fascinating and interactive meeting at Castle de Vanenburg in Putten, there was not only a substantive exchange of ideas about the profession, there was also a sparkling keynote and an entertaining panel discussion. And, of course, the election. You can read more about it in the detailed report on page 16 of this Archicomm. The next annual event is already scheduled for January 2026. 

Project of the month November 2024

Valutaboulevard 16, Amersfoort

The renovation is aimed at creating an inspiring working environment for the future tenant. Located at the entrance of business park 'Vathorst' and conveniently close to exit 'Amersfoort-Noord' of the A1 and junction 'Hoevelaken' of the A28, Valuta Boulevard offers an ideal environment for a business to flourish. The renovation was completed by the end of October 2024. For this renovation, approximately 770 M2 of Trespa Meteon - Wood Decors were applied using invisible fixing.

Project of the month December 2024

CKC the Ark, Bunschoten-Spakenburg

The creation of this project was certainly not without reason. In recent years, several new construction projects for school buildings have taken place in Bunschoten. In fact, half of these schools were more than 40 years old, leading to high maintenance costs. In addition, they were struggling with a lack of space due to the growing number of pupils. Therefore, several new construction and renovation projects have been carried out in recent years. This new child center provides the neighborhood with both a child care center and an elementary school, facilities that until now were lacking in the newly built Rengerswetering neighborhood, which is very much on the rise.

The school building has some technical features, which are clearly visible in detail in the second photo of this post. In it you can see how Trespa Meteon Wood decors are applied in vertical strips that very subtly flow into full panels with a varying repetition of mock joints.

This involves applying a milling line of, say, an inch wide and 2 millimeters deep to the plate. This gives an optical effect that appears as if multiple strips or
plates can be seen. However, up close it can be observed that there are several "false" joints attached to the slab.

Project of the month January 2025

The Mark Marknesse

This is a multifunctional building with sports hall, canteen and meeting rooms and was specifically designed as a central meeting place. The actual translation of the word marker is: 'a means to make something stand out or indicate'. This name, by the way, is no coincidence: the former village hall, 'de Marke' was outdated and no longer met the requirements of the present time; as a result, the 'social marker' in the village was missing, so to speak.

Since the sports hall (dating from the 1980s) was also in need of renovation, the idea arose to combine sports and livability. The aesthetic task was to add freshness to the building, but also to match the existing situation. The existing hall was blue in color, and KHV Architects responded excellently to this on the exterior with Trespa Meteon® facade panels in a beautiful gradient of various uni-colors with rock structure.

The panels have very low maintenance properties, which were important in the selection of a suitable facade material. A nice detail is the applied lettering which Bouwbedrijf Doorn applied in its own design that creates depth on the facade.

Construction started in November 2023 and the doors opened to the public in the fall of 2024. One of the highlights was the auction that raised as much as € 173,000, which contributed to the beautiful result. For construction company Doorn, the cooperation for this project was unique, working in a construction team and the degree of involvement of volunteers, the input of the municipality and willingness of installers was such that it went off without a hitch.
