Soundblox Carbstone absorbs sound and CO2

100% Circular, Cement-free and CO2 negative

Soundblox acoustic concrete blocks have been a trusted weapon in the fight against noise pollution for 60 years and are the ideal solution for acoustic climate control. Now Soundblox is also to be used as a weapon in the fight against CO2, actively contributing to the climate transition. Soundblox Carbstone is contributing more than a bit to the climate transition where cement-free and CO2-neutral construction will eventually become the norm.

With Soundblox, the opossibilities for sound absorption, sound insulation , stability and fire resistance can be combined in one structural wall. Carbstone also has a sustainable aspect, since it makes cement completely superfluous. Not an unnecessary luxury when you consider that concrete is responsible for 10% of the total CO2 emissions worldwide! By deploying a new technology, Soundblox actively contributes to the climate transition where ’cement-free’ eventually becomes the norm. And that without making concessions to the aesthetic design of a room. It seems too good to be true...

Mutsaard School in Brussels

In the sports hall of the Mutsaard School in Brussels, functionality is combined with exclusive design. In this specific sports hall, Soundblox are organically processed in a special pattern where the acoustic blocks are combined layer by layer with regular blocks in the same dimensions, which creates a very special aesthetic effect.

Soundblox acoustic concrete blocks combine structural stability robustness and, because of their robustness and ‘ball sound’, have been used for many years in rooms with high walls and ceilings such as sports, gymnasiums and exercise halls. Soundblox have excellent sound absorption properties to optimize room acoustics especially in low frequency ball sounds).

Soundblox are finish-free making them an excellent addition to any interior but they can also be painted over in any color to fully integrate into any design.

New ArtiSound Deco

The new ability to color Soundblox with an ultra-durable paint and a kalei consisting of all-natural material, which can be used to create a stucco layer in various textures. Artisound Deco can be supplied in any Ral color and is colored with natural color pigments that provide reflective sunlight in a way that provides an intense color experience.

The beauty of this stucco plaster is that it consists of a natural calcium carbonate that forms a very special synergy with the Carbstone substrate and thus completely petrifies, as it were, so that no primer is needed. Arti-Sound deco therefore does not interfere with the further CO2 absorption of the block but helps it along, as it were.

Circular, Cement-free and CO2 negative!

Soundblox were made of concrete for 40 years. In recent years, concrete has been a concern because of the high CO2 emissions from the use of cement. Now Soundblox are now made from a sustainable, carbonized material that offers all the benefits of concrete, such as the stability and high compressive strength, but without the ecological drawbacks. These highly innovative blocks are made from a new concrete-like material developed, namely Carbstone in which the production is made from CO2 which eliminates the need for cement and is replaced by CO2 that is actively extracted from the air and used in production. In addition to combating noise pollution, Soundblox is now also a weapon against CO2 whereby this technology actively contributes to the climate transition where cement-free production eventually becomes the norm.
