Renson may add a new international award to its trophy case. With the Red Dot product design award for the Fixscreen Minimal, the latest addition to the range of wind-resistant fabric awnings has won a prize. The fact that the Belgian sun protection manufacturer is able to combine minimalist design with a maximum number of application possibilities has also attracted international attention.
Fixscreen Minimal was designed so that the minimalist, wind-resistant fabric awning is suitable for any type of window. When developing this new type of fabric awning, the full focus was on functionality and aesthetic integration into facades with the slimmest window profiles. To do this, every part and detail of the Fixscreen was re-examined: from fabric box to side guides, fabric roll, dimensions and fabric tension. The result? Minimal dimensions and a high-end design without visible screws. It is now possible to install fabric awnings almost invisibly on windows.
Paul Renson (CEO Renson): "Thanks to exterior sunshades like this one, solar rays are blocked even before they can reach the glass of (large) windows. In increasingly well-insulated and airtight buildings, this is the most efficient, natural and sustainable way to ensure a comfortable indoor climate in 2022, without the risk of overheating. Preventing power costs for cooling from skyrocketing is the challenge of the future. The fact that the Fixscreen Minimal was rewarded with the red dot product design award proves that it is appreciated how techniques such as this also meet the latest minimalist building trends in terms of design."
The built-in version of the Fixscreen Minimal can be used for any project and on any type of window thanks to a wide range of side guides, including a unique free-standing and coupled side guide. It is independent of the window and allows up to 3 screens to be coupled up to a maximum width of 12 meters.
Today Renson exports to 83 countries and employs 1,200 people worldwide. Whether it's ventilation, sun protection or "outdoor living": design is used structurally to incorporate techniques invisibly, perfectly integrated into the interior, facade or garden: from window vents, over minimalist sun protection, interior door frames and hinges to outdoor living spaces. "In other words, design lifts a purely functional product to a higher level, making it look visually calmer," as Paul Renson.
"Success in this competition is the best proof of solid design and ditto quality," Professor Dr. Peter Zec (founder and CEO of the Red Dot Award) praises the Red Dot winners. "It confirms that the designers perfectly understood the needs of their customers." "We are particularly proud of this award," concludes Paul Renson (CEO Renson). "Indeed, it shows once again that we can distinguish ourselves as pioneers in our industry by innovating with novelties that respond perfectly to market needs."
