Unique facade thanks to magnetic attachment
Harinck is of course known for its versatile Frager doors. At Polyclose, however, the company showed a whole new product group, the Frager Facade facade cladding.
How did the new product come about? According to general manager Franck De Munster, it is actually quite simple, "It started small. A customer who purchased a front door from us asked if we could supply side panels in which to install a videophone. We took on that challenge mounted this with the Magnetude magnetic system."
This received a very enthusiastic response, according to De Munster. "Until now, facade systems were mostly glued. This causes problems, partly because glue is sensitive to temperature fluctuations. Our magnetic system is not and can be installed at night or at night. Clamping, drying times, they are all a thing of the past."
After the successful experiment, the company decided to develop profiles with which to clad entire facades; this system was patented. "The facade frames are delivered to size and drilled firmly onto the substrate. Any material will do, stone, wood or insulation material. Then the embedded aluminum shadow joint, plinth or corner is slid into the facade profile and the next facade frame can be mounted. The aluminum outer plate, also supplied to size, is mounted on the gable frame via magnetic action. Gables and sectional doors are thus mounted with invisible fastening without the use of glue or silicone."
According to De Munster, Frager Facade offers many advantages for users. "Architects are tired of vertical laths in all kinds of appearances. In addition, lighting, videophone panels and the like can be very easily incorporated into the panels. There is enough space between the cladding and the substrate to do this. Making holes and mounting LED lighting behind them is also possible."
The panels come in a variety of sizes, up to a maximum of 3 by 1.5 meters, the standard height of a facade. The chosen finish can be extended to the door or garage door.
"At Polyclose we showed the many possibilities, such as playing with different materials. Ceramics, natural stone or mirrors can be incorporated into the doors and facades. So there is an enormous amount of design freedom, think also of green facades. We ourselves discover new possibilities almost every week. The architect has complete freedom when designing an aluminum cladding. The combination of flat aluminum sheets with inset shadow joint, tight interior corner and exterior corner solutions, allow a contemporary and minimalist design."
Working with Frager Facade saves time and is also more durable, according to De Munster, because of the magnetic system. "No glue is used and the panels can be replaced individually as needed. In addition, all parts are recyclable. This applies not only to our aluminum, but also to other panel materials. Many of our customers not only supply windows and doors, but also include facades. They will be very happy that they can continue the same system."
