THE COOL³ CAMPAIGN MAKES NATURE SMILE AGAIN

Less energy, less CO2, more oxygen. That's what Cool³ stands for. This campaign by RENOLIT ALKORPLAN Roofing Products is good for the environment, promoting sustainable products and planting trees again in 2022, an initiative to help reduce CO2 emissions.

The construction industry is responsible for 36% of total CO2 emissions. To meet the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the industry needs to come up with more innovative solutions. RENOLIT ALKORPLAN Roofing Products, part of the German RENOLIT Group, is already doing its part to achieve this, producing sustainable, versatile and high-quality certified synthetic waterproofing membranes for roofs.

These solutions include RENOLIT ALKORPLAN Bright cool roof and RENOLIT ALKORPLAN Smart cool color roof membranes. RENOLIT ALKORPLAN Bright combines the quality and advantages of the RENOLIT ALKORPLAN roof membrane with high solar reflectance (SRI or solar reflectance index of 115). 

"With a traditional roof, the temperature on the roof can reach 85°C, the temperature inside the building up to 30°C. A RENOLIT ALKORPLAN Bright roofing membrane limits this on the roof to 45°C and the inside to 25°C. A cool roof provides increased living comfort and also delivers up to 43% savings in air conditioning energy consumption." 

Baert continues: "RENOLIT ALKORPLAN Smart is a technological and innovative masterpiece that not only provides perfect sealing and good mechanical and chemical resistance, but is also energy-saving, durable, versatile and aesthetic, as well as guaranteeing a long service life. Thanks to the special pigments of the exclusive solar shield technology, RENOLIT ALKORPLAN Smart also reduces the temperature of the roof surface. Lower energy consumption and CO2 emissions are the positive result. In addition, these products can be completely recycled at the end of their life cycle."

In 2019, RENOLIT joined the Circular Plastics Alliance (CPA), a European Commission initiative with 266 associations and companies, which aims to incorporate at least 10 million tons of recycled plastic into products and packaging within Europe by 2025. In addition, for every 100 m² of rolls of roofing membrane or rolls of Bright or Smart roofing membranes installed, a tree will be planted in cooperation with the online platform Treedom. "More than 700 trees have already been planted during the first campaign. The Cool³ campaign being launched now aims to reach the target of 2,500 trees."
