A suitable solution for every building

Technology that blends seamlessly with aesthetics

User-friendly technology combined with attractive design is a key feature of Siedle's door communication devices. "We offer a suitable solution for every situation," says Wim Brusselaers, General Manager of Siedle Benelux. "Even in armored glass, we can install our products."

Siedle is a leading manufacturer of building communication technology in homeland Germany and the rest of Europe. "We ensure that our products blend seamlessly with the appearance of the building. The architect is an artist. If he designs a beautiful facade, he doesn't want it to be spoiled. We understand this."

Two special residential towers were erected near Antwerp for which the architect used anodized aluminum. "The residential towers were completely clad with this. One in a yellowish tint, the other green, with glass over it. The architect was looking for a door intercom to match his design. We then used material from the facade to integrate the technology perfectly."

Polished brass intercoms

For the "Erhardt 10" apartment complex in Munich, Siedle also took into account the material used. The building impresses with its extraordinary architecture. The design by Thomas Kröger deliberately plays with historical and contemporary references. This sophisticated design naturally called for matching in-house telephones.

"The door stations of the Siedle Classic design line are made of solid, polished brass. The metal accentuates the facade design and is deliberately a living, changing material. Door stations with this metal surface develop their own aesthetic over time."

There are ten of these door stations in the Erhardtstraße residential complex. At the main entrance and the nine side entrances, visitors are welcomed by polished brass video intercoms. The new building on the edge of the Gärtnerplatz district, located directly on the Isar, consists of four sections connected by two courtyards. There are a total of 28 apartments in the building. The video door entry systems with laser-marked house numbers transmit door calls with live images to Siedle Basic indoor video stations. Siedle's intelligent camera technology provides excellent visibility even in challenging lighting conditions and at night. In this way, residents are always well informed about visitors at the entrance.

Building communication in armored glass

Facades made of glass place special demands on architects and planners. However, thanks to a special type of mounting, it is even possible to install Siedle Steel in armored glass. "This is still a relatively unknown possibility," says Brusselaers. "But it is one that deserves more attention."

Without any additional frame or visible fastening, every Steel system can be installed in glass. In armored glass, however, no large openings may be made. Installing the communication system in a glass cut-out or as a panel between two glass elements is therefore not possible. Therefore, in cooperation with a facade manufacturer, the company developed an attachment method that suffices with small, precision-placed openings in the glass. Both the safety properties of the armored glass and also the characteristic frameless appearance of the glass installation are retained in this way.
