Forbo Flooring, market leader in sustainable flooring solutions, introduces Marmoleum with a new Topshield finish, the Topshield pro. This is the third generation of the Topshield finish, a Marmoleum floor will now last even longer. Topshield has been used as a factory finish on all Marmoleum floors for more than a decade to ensure the desired quality throughout the life of the floor. The new finish improves the quality, making the professional environment ready for the future.

How well a floor - and its top layer - performs only becomes apparent as its lifespan progresses. A good topcoat is important to minimize signs of use on the floor and ensure floor quality. For this reason, Forbo continues to optimize its Topshield finishes, for example, the new Topshield pro offers three times better protection than its predecessor. Topshield pro is better on 3 fronts. The top layer has very good wear resistance, excellent stain resistance and the floor is easy to maintain and clean. 

Most durable floor

Marmoleum's production process has an extremely low environmental impact. Marmoleum consists of as much as 98 percent natural raw materials such as linseed oil from the flax plant, wood flour - a residual product from forestry - and jute harvested as an annual crop. These ingredients grow quickly and absorb more CO2 than is emitted during production. The floor is made with electricity from renewable energy sources and all raw materials and production waste are recycled. This makes Marmoleum the most sustainable and resilient floor on the market. The new Topshield pro has been tested for a long period in practice and in the lab. In a test conducted by TÜV Rheinlans, Marmoleum with Topshield pro performed significantly better than comparable products from other manufacturers under extreme wear and tear. The factory finish protects better against dirt and sand, as well as foot traffic and loads from wheels and rollers. The new finish also makes Marmoleum more resistant to the latest alcohol-based disinfectants.
