A feast for the eyes. But also: pleasant to work with. With Rubio WoodCream, manufacturer Rubio Monocoat is convincing more and more clients, processors and architects. The one-layer treatment guarantees a full appearance while retaining the unique wood structure. The hydrophobic character brings the wood to life. This creates unprecedented aesthetic possibilities for garden and building...
Rubio WoodCream is not a traditional paint or varnish product, but an innovative wax-based and hydrophobic cream. The product is specially developed for the long-term protection of vertical wood, such as wooden houses, cladding, canopies, porches, luxury gazebos, carports and yard fences.
"Uniquely, it preserves the natural look and feel of exterior wood at all times," says Sjoerd Bos, Country Manager of Rubio Monocoat Netherlands. "The unique and active self-cleaning formula nourishes the wood intensively, preserves the breathable structure and makes the surface water repellent. As a result, the product will not flake off. The resulting pearl effect also gives the wood a special dimension."
Thanks to its cream texture, Rubio WoodCream is easy to apply with a brush, both on new and previously treated wood and without risk of dripping.
"The product is ideally suited for soft woods," Bos said. "Processors only need to apply one or two coats, do not need masking tape and can easily apply the product overhead. Also unique is the low consumption: depending on the suction of the substrate, the consumption will be 50 to 80 g/m² per coat. After thirty minutes the product is already hand-dry and the total drying time is about twelve hours. A possible second coat can already be applied after three hours, as from then a pearl effect is already present. As icing on the cake, the product is very environmentally friendly with 0% VOC."
Rubio WoodCream is available in 26 original colors, which will be shown on a 3D effect wall during Architect@Work. When combined with Rubio WoodCream Softener, the color intensity of the Rubio WoodCream colors can also be reduced as desired to achieve a semi-transparent or grayed-out wood look. "Depending on the selected color, wood species and orientation of the vertical wood, the chosen color will last between 5 and 10 years," Bos said. "When it's time for a refresh or renovation, the Rubio WoodCream can be combined again with the Rubio WoodCream Softener, depending on the degree of wear."
