Cementitious floors and walls
From living room to bedroom, office and/or meeting room and everything in between, micro-cement is wildly popular among architects and end users alike. This is not surprising, because the cement-bound floor and wall finish gives every interior a sturdy basis and a spacious feeling, as if you were stepping right into a home magazine. Microcement is seamless to apply, wear- and scratch-resistant and easy to maintain. Arturo Microcement adds an extra dimension. Thanks to a special coating, the system is also waterproof and waterproof and suitable for use in wet areas such as kitchens, bathrooms and toilets. This microcement is perfect to combine with an industrial interior with robust furniture and raw materials, but also comes into its own in a rural interior ...
Arturo, like Uzin, Wolff, Pallmann and Codex, is a brand of UZIN UTZ Nederland and creates floors that perfectly match the customer's wishes and space requirements. Both functionally and aesthetically. "The development of Arturo Microcement fits this perfectly," says Tom Borggreve, Head of Product Management at UZIN UTZ Nederland. "It is a valuable addition to our flooring spectrum, but also an interesting expansion into a new target market: wall finishing."
Arturo Microcement is a new decorative and pasty finish for floors and walls, based on a very fine cement to which polymers (plastic additives), color pigments and water are added. "Whereas the polymers guarantee high flexibility and tear resistance, the color pigments provide special color shades," Borggreve said. "In the end result, the craftsmanship of the craftsman is clearly evident.
Together with interior stylist Thea Kruders, UZIN UTZ has selected twelve imaginative colors: Snow, Ice, Beach, Desert, Tuscan, Concrete, Dust, Bark, Ash, Cliff, Lake and Vulcan. Six colors are already pre-mixed (premix). "For the remaining colors, processors can add the pigment themselves in a base white," says Dr. K. K., "and the other colors can be added by themselves."
"Processing Arturo Microcement is very easy and fast," Borggreve emphasizes. "The product can easily be spread over the leveled substrate with a trowel, spackle knife or other tool. The application of Arturo Microcement is then done in two layers. The first layer contains between the
400-600 grams/m2 and must dry for approximately two to three hours before you can sand the floor (if necessary) and put on the second coat. Whereas the first layer determines the markings/appearance of the floor, the second layer (about 200 grams/m2) serves mainly as a sealing layer."
With a total system thickness of only one millimeter, consumption is very low, he says. Moreover, waste is avoided.
"Even when the material starts to get a little stiffer, processors can easily mix it through. Afterwards, Arturo Microcement is as fresh and unctuous again as it was at the beginning of the application. Both coats can be put on in one day. Impregnation follows the next day, with processors having the choice of a silk or matte appearance. Floors and walls in wet areas should then be coated twice more to ensure perfect waterproofing."
