New ways to explore contract materials

Architect welcomed with open arms in Frankfurt

From January 9 to 12, 2024, the new edition of Heimtextil, the international trade fair for residential and contract textiles, will take place in Frankfurt. With the theme "join the wow," a positive tone will be set. Architects can take advantage of a special program, to take in relevant news as effectively as possible.

Early this year, the organization was already satisfied with the number of applications, but the number of exhibitors continues to grow. For now, 2,600 exhibitors are expected. This is almost 10% more than in 2023. "We notice that some companies make last-minute decisions," says Björn Vissers of Messe Benelux Netherlands. "So it may well be that more exhibitors will be added and we will be very happy with that."

Over the years, the contract market has become increasingly important for the companies presenting at Heimtextil. "In addition, it is visible that architects have an increasingly clear voice when it comes to textiles. The design of a project is in their hands from A to Z, so they are also concerned with the decoration, and prescribe products for this." To make a visit to Heimtextil even more attractive, there is the special Interior.Architecture.Hospitality. program, which consists of the Library, Tours and a special Directory.

Discovering new fabrics is possible par excellence at Heimtextil.

Library full of contract materials

The Interior.Architecture.Hospitality Library brings together high-quality contract materials. 85 exhibitors have been selected by a jury of experts, and their products will be displayed in Hall 4.0. They are divided into five different categories: flame-retardant, sound-absorbent, light-resistant, antimicrobial and water-repellent. Here the DIN, EN and ISO standards are decisive. In making the selection, the experts naturally also took design and innovation into account. On the first two days of the fair, the curators offer special Library Tours, in addition, the Library can still be visited online throughout the year.

Lectures and tours combined

The new Interior.Architecture.Hospitality Talks & Tours combine lectures by experts, with a tour of selected products. In addition to sustainability, various aspects of design will be discussed. Participants can learn how high-quality materials age beautifully and therefore contrast with the disposable society. So this is also about recycling. There is also a special topic on the use of textiles in hotels.

Prefer just a guided tour? For this, architects can follow different guides. Alexa Schraverus, Schraverus Innenarchitektur, leads visitors around under the banner Tours by bdia. Her focus will be on a sense of well-being indoors and show why social media can never replace individual planning. As part of Tours by world architects, Iria Degen, of Iria Degen Interiors AG, will report on her passionate work with textiles and how it is connected to a broader context and life in general.

Setting out on your own to discover all the halls of Heimtextil is possible with the Interior.Architecture.Hospitality Directory in hand. In it, exhibitors with solutions for the contract sector are listed separately, their exhibition stands are marked with an appropriate logo.
