For durable and innovative plastic window frames in new construction and renovation projects.
The 13th edition of the VKG Architecture Prize starts on Thursday, June 1, 2023. The professional award for projects where aesthetics, circularity, execution technology and plastic window frames are perfectly part of the design. Projects can be nominated through the VKG Keurmerk website until September 8. We invite architects and clients to share their successful project and apply for this honorable award.
The award ceremony will take place during Building Holland on Nov. 8, 2023. 30 winners preceded the architects who will emerge as winners in November.
The window and entrance are the connection between a building and the outside world. Window frames leave a clear signature in architecture. Like the entire construction column, the plastic window frame industry is strongly committed to sustainable innovation. The aesthetic value of cladding is naturally included in this.
The VKG Architecture Prize has two categories: New construction and Renovation. Sustainability is a prerequisite for the nominated projects and is taken into account in the jury's assessment. With this award, the industry association for plastic window frames wants to give praise to projects that deserve it. On the other hand, architects, developers, contractors, municipalities, housing cooperatives and other players in the construction industry may be inspired. The new generation of plastic window frames stands for aesthetics, versatility and sustainable innovation, including a recycling system that has been functioning for years.
The jury consists of professionals from the construction industry and the sustainability landscape. Former winners Arthur Nuss (Global Architects) and Arno Kolen (Charcoal) select and judge the nominated projects together with sustainability expert Mantijn van Leeuwen (Nibe) and VKG director Albert Zegelaar.
Building Holland is the 2-day event for making the built environment more sustainable, packed with knowledge and innovations. Duurzaam Gebouwd and Stedenbouw en Architectuur are the content partners of Building Holland, providing the content of the event with their network and knowledge. From the partnership with Duurzaam Gebouwd, VKG has chosen this stage to present the award. Albert Zegelaar: "With this event we are in the middle of the professionals from the building world who share the same vision as we do."
