Wooden tables Table du Sud tightly lacquered with ADLER Benelux

Anyone driving through De Poortmannen business park in Heeze, Brabant, will pass a host of different companies. From roofers and car dealers to construction companies and real estate agents - and ADLER Benelux, part of the leading Austrian paint and varnish manufacturer ADLER. The wood processing industry, carpenters, furniture makers and painters can find a wide range of surface treatment products, professional accessories and expert advice. Neighbor Table du Sud is a regular customer there: it makes custom wooden tables, which are then treated with various ADLER products.

Stormy growth

As is the case with many businesses, Table du Sud's story began in a garage. This is where Evert Antonissen made a bar table for his brother Teun. The acquaintances of the two brothers were also interested in this, the bar tables also turned out to do well on Marktplaats - and voilà, in 2015 the founding of Table du Sud in Heeze was a fact. Seven years later, with 110 employees, two business premises and three showrooms across the country, the company has experienced stormy growth.

Short lines

In 2018, Table du Sud chose products from neighbor ADLER Benelux for machining the tabletops, says Table du Sud co-founder Teun Antonissen. "For us, the fact that they are around the corner from us was very important. After all, one of our spearheads is to work locally as much as possible. In addition, our paint shop was very pleased with ADLER's products after several trials and tests were done. The testing process was also very fast: often we were able to move on the same day." Good contact also plays a big role for Antonissen. "He can even app me on Sundays," laughs Leon Cremers, director of ADLER Benelux. "If I have a question or want advice, I can always reach Leon very quickly," Antonissen adds. "The lines of communication are short, and that works fine."

Few complaints

The various wooden tables are treated with the lacquers Aduro Vitea, Aduro Isofin and Aduro Vento and the stain Arova Rustica. In addition, Table du Sud uses various professional accessories from ADLER. "We get very few complaints from our customers about the surface of our table tops. That strengthens our conviction that it was a good choice to partner with ADLER Benelux," says Antonissen.

Involved in innovation processes

ADLER invests 10 percent of annual sales in Research & Development each year. Innovation is therefore a high priority there. Table du Sud shares this vision, says Antonissen: "We are always looking for ways and products to work more efficiently so that we can offer our customers an even better and more beautiful product. When we first started using ADLER products, we still treated our tables with oil. Later we switched to lacquers and stains because they offer better results. In addition, we continuously strive to reduce the drying time of the lacquers. The people at ADLER Benelux are very involved in such innovation processes and like to think along with us. ADLER is just a solid party!"
