De Rooy Metaaldesign has years of knowledge about and experience with steel and in particular with the design and manufacture of steel doors.
Herriët Willemsen-De Rooy, sales and administration employee at De Rooy Metaaldesign in Veenendaal: "We recently moved to a new location on the A12, where we are ready for the future with a new and expanded showroom. Previously, our family business was located at our parental home."
Herriet continues: "We have always had a passion for steel and it began in a long history, dating back to the year 1894: great-great-grandfather Reijndert Dirk, great-grandfather Pieter Everhardus and grandfather Reijndert Dirk. All shared their love for steel. My parents Gert and Wil continued this tradition and started their own metal company in 1985, under the name G. de Rooy Metaaldesign. They specialized in making fencing and chimney caps. In 2007, my brother Marein joined the family business. He had gained experience elsewhere in manufacturing steel stairs and took this with him. He then started a project in making steel doors. It looked very beautiful. We shared our knowledge, experience and enthusiasm with the outside world and then the ball started rolling. And it's still rolling."
"It opens up the home for more light, while also insulating well against noise and temperature. Steel doors have an elegant look with a classic industrial twist, also ideal for office buildings. A large percentage of them are pivot doors. These are doors that rotate on their vertical axis, but not in the middle or on either post. Here we use Frits Jurgens' high-quality pivot hinge, equipped with opening and closing damping. It is fully integrated by us. The steel door feels light and moves smoothly."
De Rooy Metal Design works closely with various architects and on behalf of a variety of clients. "Our quality and workmanship are very high. We work with a patented profile where no welds are visible. Our steel doors are made in one piece and are symmetrical on both sides."
The new showroom in Veenendaal features the extensive range, spread over two floors. "We show it and answer all possible questions: a single and double steel door, with or without a side panel, opening by sliding or turning? Even the tessellation can be adjusted entirely to your taste, as can the material to be applied like the glass or leather. Everything is possible with a steel door, and we present in our showroom not only the standard options, but also the uncommon ones."
With the manufacture of steel doors, work at De Rooy Metaaldesign has taken off. "In workmanship, the variety and in new designs. We keep innovating continuously," Herriët concludes.
