De Rooy Metaaldesign's steel interior doors offer light, space and comfort in every home, business space and hospitality facility. "Thanks to our steel doors, living and working spaces can be closed off efficiently and soundproofed, while transparent glass fillings guarantee optimal (daytime) light," says owner Marein de Rooy. "In addition, sightlines are enhanced." De Rooy Metaaldesign adds an unprecedented piece of craftsmanship as well as great design freedom. This makes the steel doors very popular among (interior) architects and private individuals.
The passion for working with steel began as early as 1893 with great-great-grandfather Reijndert Dirk. Now, almost 130 years later, the love for the steel craft is in the hands of Marein de Rooy.
"We have been designing and manufacturing designer steel products for many years," he says. "This started in the 1980s with entrance gates and fencing. Later, stairs were added, and since 2006 we have focused primarily on steel interior doors. From pivot doors to hinged doors and sliding doors, in a very wide range of models and finishes. From black to bronze, brass or copper. Even leather is among the possibilities. By cooperating with the very best suppliers and interior architects, we make steel doors accessible to lovers of quality and a sleek and high-quality interior."
De Rooy Metaaldesign's steel doors are distinguished by their perfect quality and workmanship. The family business has even received a patent for the way it makes the steel frames for its steel interior doors.
"At the base of our steel doors is a proprietary profile, which is completely symmetrical on two sides," said De Rooy. "In addition, the glass frames are cut from a whole plate, so there are no disturbing (miter) corners. This benefits the appearance of our doors."
For the pivot doors, De Rooy Metaaldesign uses FritsJurgens' high-quality pivot hinge. "This hinge features opening and closing damping and is fully integrated by us. A FritsJurgens pivot system continues to open lightly and smoothly for generations. During tests it has been shown that the doors can be used more than a million times."
In the extensive showroom of De Rooy Metaaldesign in Veenendaal, (inte-
rior) architects and private customers view a wide range of interior steel doors and finishes.
"Based on customer requirements, we are happy to provide a custom quote," said De Rooy. "After agreement, our draftsmen measure the doors on site. We then produce the steel doors in our 1,800 m² production area, where the latest machinery is set up. All sawn parts are carefully smoothed and deburred here, after which the doors are given a two-layer powder coating as standard. If a finish in bronze, brass or copper is chosen, a third and noble finish is added on top."
For assembly, customers can rely on our own team of experienced fitters, ensuring high quality in this area as well.
In addition to transparent glass infills, interior steel doors from De Rooy Metaaldesign can be finished with a leather infill. This option is popular for doors toward utility kitchens, among others, according to De Rooy. "Thanks to this option, the line of the doors is stylishly continued into the interior, while 'distracting' elements are hidden from view. The leather also provides a soft and natural touch. With this, we offer a suitable design solution for every room and every customer requirement."
