At Trespa International BV, sustainability comes from within

Create good business opportunities. Sustainability comes from within

The sustainability policy at Trespa International BV is based on the essential motivation to shift from "less bad" for the environment to "good. "In doing so, we simultaneously realize new values," says René van Boxtel, Country Manager for the United Kingdom, Ireland and the Netherlands at the Weert-based company.

René interprets this clear statement from the following perspectives.

DO NO HARM

"We adhere to the safety, product and sustainability regulations and guidelines of the countries in which we operate. We focus on realizing opportunities that minimize the environmental impact of our business activities and products."

DO GOOD

"We support our suppliers and customers in achieving their sustainability challenges. The environmental attributes of our organization's products can be found in SPDs that are publicly available. We continue to look out for opportunities and initiatives to support and promote longer-term sustainability beyond the immediate scope of our existing business operations."

DO BETTER

"We believe that investing in sustainability should bring benefits to the company's long-term position. After all, many sustainability challenges offer good business opportunities, allowing the company to grow further."

BIOBASED PRODUCT LABEL

"Bio-based refers to the origin of materials. These must be from renewable sources (for example, wood, natural fibers, sugar,....). Bio-based materials must be regrown within a relatively short period of time. For example, Trespa® Meteon® has this Biosourcé product label. This makes it unique in combination with its long reference life of at least 50 years!"

René concludes, "So the most important factor for sustainability is a long lifespan for our products. After all, the longer the product lasts, the longer the period over which the environmental impact associated with the production of raw materials and the manufacturing process can be spread out. Because they need to be replaced less frequently, long-lasting products result in lower use of raw materials, lower emissions of pollutants and less waste than goods with a short lifespan. The exceptional quality of all our products is a result of this vision, because they are by definition highly durable materials that last a long time."
