Traditional offices are increasingly disappearing. Flexible workspaces are emerging in their place. For this changing office market, Zipper Wall offers a circular and modular solution, the Zipper Wall partitioning system. The different elements of this system are connected by a zipper. Thanks to the reuse of materials and a buy-back scheme, these products are now even more sustainable.
The Zipper Wall System will be on display October 11 and 12 at the Workspace Design Show in the RAI, Amsterdam. "At this event our potential customers are present," says founder Hans Kok. "As well as competing companies. So here we cannot be missing. We see this as an opportunity to show what we do differently. I hope to meet many (interior) architects, because I think we undoubtedly have a distinctive product. In terms of flexibility, scalability and circularity.
What exactly is the Zipper Wall System? "Our system consists of elements clamped between floor and ceiling. An ordinary zipper pulls the different modules together and forms a rock-solid and stable connection between the wall sections."
Walls can be realized with the components, but Ritswand also supplies units in the form of a meeting room, call box or concentration workstation. "The units feature very good acoustics and sound insulation, integrated intelligent LED lighting and their own ventilation system. We have now improved the sound insulation even further. We achieve between 38 and 42Db with rooms-in-space. This is due in part to a self-developed glass frame door with drop sill."
Installation of the Zipper Wall System is simple and fast. "In addition, there is no damage to the property when we remove the elements. This enables flexible use of our products. For units up to 270 x 270cm, we can guarantee relocations within a building within one working day."
Hans explains that circularity is central to his company. "That starts with production. We keep the use of virgin material to a minimum. For the Zipper Wall System, we use non-virgin plastics and recycled wood and textiles. We use denim to insulate the walls and clothing from the military and hospitals, among others, is recycled as wall covering. Where recycled materials are not possible, as in the case of glass, we look for the supplier with the most sustainable production method. All materials are used and reused throughout the life of our product (more than 15 years) and then recycled into reusable materials."
The system's walls and units are modular in every way. For example, glass can easily be replaced with a fabric or wood panel. The frames come in a variety of colors, as do the panels.
The Zipper Wall System is also attractive financially, Hans says. "It is possible to apply 36% Environmental Investment Deduction on the purchase price of the product. In addition, we offer a buy-back scheme. This gives customers a guaranteed trade-in price, up to ten years after purchase. Renting our wall elements is also possible. We keep our products in stock and can assemble them within 6 to 8 weeks."
