The Fixvent Mono AK from Renson combines natural fresh air supply with fabric shading. The same box on top of the window thus combines both a window vent and a fabric box. In a specific custom solution, it was even adapted for the specifically Dutch construction method against a wooden frame, as was also realized in the Arnhem Spijkerkwartier.
Reconciling functional and aesthetic aspects in residential projects is often a challenge for you as an architect, unless innovative products make life much easier, such as Renson's Fixvent Mono AK. The combination of a window ventilation grille for the natural supply of fresh air and fabric sunshade in the same box on top of the window allows the desired sleek design to continue throughout.
The fact that the often necessary ventilation grilles can be detailed away behind the exterior cavity wall is, of course, a good thing so as not to disturb a sleek design. If large windows - especially those facing south and west - also require you to install external blinds, the Renson Fixvent Mono AK will kill two birds with one stone. It combines the ventilation grilles with the desired screens. Recessed in the façade, the fabric boxes as well as the side guides are not visible anywhere, while from the inside they are always accessible for maintenance.
The use of Fixvent allows for more energy-efficient living, on the condition that residents enjoy optimal daylight and solar heat all year round. Without overheating indoors, because the exterior fabric sunshade blocks the sun even before it can reach the glass. At the same time, there is a continuous supply of fresh outside air to continuously replace the polluted inside air. Acoustically insulated as it is, the Fixvent Mono AK thereby ensures the least possible noise pollution from outside.
In the Spijkerkwartier in Arnhem, Renson's Fixvent Mono AK was mounted on the windows, although this was not the standard version, but a custom solution adapted to the Dutch construction method with frame. This Fixvent Mono AK was adapted so that the flange for the frame mounting of the window continues on the sides and top of the fabric box. Thus, frame and Fixvent can be mounted in one piece.
A prerequisite for the success of this tailor-made solution, however, was that all parties in the construction team sat around the table at an early stage of the project (architect, contractor, system supplier Reynaers, window manufacturer Renson). This proved to be the formula for success here in order to be able to coordinate everything as well as possible.
