More automation in the new update of Archicad 24

This one focuses on the current version and again user feedback played an important role in the development. The update includes innovation in the area of even better collaboration with constructors, more model comparison capabilities and new features in MEP Modeler.

Automated collaboration with constructors

The collaboration between architect and structural engineer depends on a good exchange of models, both at import and export, and that in both packages. The update provides this with a number of important additions that further automate this process, by, for example, being able to automatically include steel profiles in Archicad models, and when exporting to the structural engineer to choose from Translators with various collaboration protocols. In this way, the project is directly aligned with the working methodology used by the structural engineer and the collaboration runs all the more smoothly.

Comparing openings

Also in the area of model comparison, the workflow has been expanded in the new version. For example, Model Compare can recognize openings as entities, allowing faster detection of differences in opening sizes, for example.

Freer modeling of MEP systems

In the previous release, the MEP Modeler was fully integrated with Archicad. In this release, the use of the MEP Modeler has been significantly improved and the necessary market-based content has become available, with predefined preferred dimensions, for example. In addition, connections between MEP elements have been optimized, and faster and easier to use. Even on different floors. Finally, new flexible pipes and channels have been developed for complex situations. These are available online via BIMcomponents.

Clear(er) issue management

Issue tags have been expanded in the new version with self-defined 'Types' for disciplines, for example. In addition, only the changed properties of issues are still displayed in the history. Incidentally, these capabilities were already available through the BIMcollab BCF Manager for Archicad and BIMcollab Cloud.

Exchanging information with Unreal, Solibri and Revit

As of today, Archicad offers a connection to Datasmith Exporter, which allows information such as geometry, materials and light to be exported to Unreal. The Solibri add-on now also supports BCF2.1 and is linked to Archicad's issue manager functionality. The RFA and RVT geometry exchange add-on, which allows easy exchange of Revit files and families, is now available for Archicad 24. In addition, GRAPHISOFT's free plug-in for Revit provides smooth exchange of IFC between Archicad and Revit. This has now been upgraded to the latest version of Revit.
