Carousel doors: a good entry point

A good facade design starts with the entrance, Marc van Oijen, Architectural Advisor at GU Netherlands, knows. "Especially in large commercial buildings, an elegant revolving door is an attractive entrance. Moreover, revolving doors ensure that large groups of people can enter and exit without losing too much heat (or in summer: cold). Whoever signs up for such a door naturally wants to be sure that the revolving door meets all safety requirements. For this reason the standard revolving door GRA-F and the all-glass revolving door GGR from GU have been tested and found to be suitable for this application. Last but not least: the revolving doors are also suitable for use in escape and rescue routes."

Hardware for windows

Special designs on request

"Our standard range already includes many different models," Van Oijen said. "From top-hinged casement windows to parallel casement windows, turn-tilt, turn-tilt and turn-turn windows, and tumble and pivot windows. But upon request and in cooperation with architects and planners, we can also develop and produce special designs to individual specifications." 

Of course, such a design must be extensively tested and checked. "Within GU, we therefore have our own
test center, where the facade elements of tomorrow are tested. Customers from all over the world are now using this."
