With the WALL stairs from Fontanot S.p.A., architects and end users even have complete freedom of choice. Both in stair height, shape, material and color. This makes WALL the superlative in design.
Fontanot S.p.A. has its origins in Italy. Since 2000, the company has also been active in the Netherlands, where specific architectural requirements apply. Among other things, with regard to stair height, stair width, rise and fall, walking lines, et cetera. "For Dutch residential construction, for example, specific spiral staircases and mid-boom staircases have been developed, which are eagerly sought after, particularly in the regular housing construction and replacement market," says Jan Craenen of J. Craenen agenturen, the Dutch partner of Fontanot S.p.A.
"Last year the range was also expanded to include innovative floating stairs for luxury(er) residential construction, which are fully compliant with the Dutch Building Code."
In addition to 80 or 90 cm wide treads, end treads, 45° (corner) treads, 90° landings and an extensive range of balustrades/railings, the WALL range consists of different types of wood (beech, oak and ash), colors (natural, bleeched, dove gray, dark havanna and dark walnut) and textures (smooth and brushed), says Craenen. "This gives architects and end users the freedom to determine their own stair height, shape, width and design. The only requirement is a stable bearing wall of at least 18 cm thickness."
Another unique feature of the WALL stairs is that the cantilever steps can be mounted directly on the wall. "The use of chemical anchors makes a steel skeleton in the wall unnecessary. This allows considerable savings in labor time and costs, without sacrificing minimalist design."
Sales of Fontanot S.p.A stairs are in the hands of stair specialty stores and the larger DIY stores.
