Functionalities are important, but design is still the first impression. If that look catches the eye, the consumer is more likely to ask questions about further features. This is why Novy puts a lot of thought into the design of each new product, which is either integrated invisibly or forms a distinct design element in the kitchen. With the Novy Phantom, the manufacturer offers an award-winner in this area: a powerful extraction system with atmospheric lighting in a transparent box, which is attached to the ceiling with steel cables or a metal frame.
During every conversation with Novy employees, it becomes clear again and again how much importance the company attaches to innovation and its focus on design. The innovative hoods, worktop extractors, cooktops and lighting modules are always tailored to the needs of the market - both in terms of technology and design.
"With each new development, not only is attention paid to functionality, but we also immediately strive for visually elaborated concepts, which allow us to have a good idea of what the product will eventually look like. Only when R&D, product management and management give their approval are prototypes made," says director of marketing Olivier Lambert.
"Our systems define how consumers experience their kitchen experience. In addition to efficiency and quiet operation, design and additional lighting are also very important. We follow trends closely. We find these in architecture and kitchen magazines, but above all at trade fairs, such as the Salone del Mobile in Milan, Italy. For certain projects, we also work with external designers. They sometimes suggest materials that our people would not apply as standard."
The range now includes many products that visually demand all the attention: the Flatline, Mood and Pureline Frame hoods, the Panorama worktop extractor, the induction hobs, the Wall, Pendant and Shelf lighting fixtures, etc., to name but a few. However, the eye-catcher par excellence is the Novy Phantom. This extractor above the cooking island combines a powerful extraction system and atmospheric, dimmable lighting in a striking transparent glass box. This system can be easily operated with the remote control, the built-in InTouch connection of a Novy cooktop or the Novy Connect App on smartphone or tablet. The hood automatically shuts itself off if no buttons are touched for three hours. In this way, the manufacturer prevents people from forgetting to turn off their silent extractor and thus wasting energy.
"In developing this innovative solution, we enlisted the help of an external designer, who introduced glass as one of the main components. This created a striking box-in-box concept with a whisper-quiet recirculation hood as well as a lighting fixture, which provides warm, atmospheric lighting in the kitchen and functional, dimmable lighting above the cooktop. This design element comes in either a Cable version, suspended by steel cables, or a Frame version, which is our response to the increasing demand for an industrial look in modern kitchens," Lambert explains.
"The unique design of our Novy Phantom has already won several awards. Among others, it was awarded a Red Dot Award, an IF Design Award and a Kitchen Innovation Award."
