For eight years, Forbo Eurocol has also focused on high-performance floor finishes. Three of the five innovations in this field are the products LiquidDesign, DecoDesign and FloorColouring.
"With these unique surface finishing products we are responding to the needs from the market," says Forbo Eurocol sales director Rob Eijgelsheim. "For example, there is a high demand for seamless floors and more and more is expected of us in the environmental field. At the same time, we are facing an increasing shortage of craftsmen. With that knowledge, we developed sleek, durable and aesthetic floor finishes. These are fairly easy to apply after receiving training from Forbo Eurocol."
"Our innovative product LiquidDesign is a great example of a seamless, durable and processing-friendly floor," continued Eijgelsheim. "This elastic flow floor is based on vegetable oils and filler materials such as cork and wood flour. This makes LiquidDesign very suitable for environmentally friendly, circular projects. On top of that, LiquidDesign has a warm, comfortable appearance while being wear-resistant and easy to maintain. With this, we offer an interesting floor finish for schools, libraries, town halls, offices and homes, for example." LiquidDesign is a two-day system, where the flow floor is applied first and then a topcoat.
Another innovation from Forbo Eurocol concerns the high-quality wall and floor finish DecoDesign. This multi-layer dispersion product is ideally suited for offices, stores, hotels, restaurants and healthcare institutions, among others. Eijgelsheim: "DecoDesign is comfortable, colorfast and has a warm appearance. This sets this floor apart from PU or epoxy floors. Moreover, DecoDesign is dirt-repellent and, depending on the size of the room, can be applied in just over one working day."
DecoDesign is composed of a two-layer acrylic coating, a spray coating with colored pixels and one (for walls) or two (for floors) coats of lacquer.
"A floor finish that is currently in high demand involves the concrete look," says Eijgelsheim. "Our clever product FloorColouring is the answer to this. This product is composed of a leveling agent and pigment in a certain ratio. With this we kill two birds with one stone. We make the floor sleek and straight, and immediately give it the desired look. The floor is finished with a lacquer system. In addition to the color, the method of application determines the concrete look of the floor. We have drawn up regulations for this."
"LiquidDesign, DecoDesign and FloorColouring are all distinctive products," Eijgelsheim emphasizes. "With these, we offer an interesting addition to the existing range of floor finishes. With this in mind, we are continuously developing new products. In that area, we have even more to offer the market in the near future."
