Director Henk Sprick has transferred the daily management of Kömmerling Nederland to Remco van Overdijk as of October 1. As Country Manager of Kömmerling Netherlands, Van Overdijk will focus even more than before on sustainability and circularity. But also on broad architect support.
Sprick was active within Kömmerling Netherlands (formerly Profine Netherlands) for more than forty years. "An impressive achievement," according to Van Overdijk. "During that time, he played an important role in the development and proper marketing of plastic window frames in general and the K-VISION and Kömmerling brands in particular. But also in our circular thinking, of which window frames made of 100% recycled material and frames made of bio-attributed PVC are an example." Sprick will remain involved with the organization until the end of March, sharing his knowledge as well as supporting the induction of a number of new employees. After that, he will enjoy his well-deserved retirement.
Like Sprick, Van Overdijk has been a familiar face within the Profine Group; the globally active parent company, for many years. "I started over 23 years ago in the inside sales department," he says. "About twelve years ago, this was joined by field sales, where I provided support in both technical and commercial areas. In that time I have seen the technical and aesthetic possibilities of plastic window frames grow considerably. Beautiful milestones include the development of our recycling program, the recessed profiles, the right angle connection, Cube and bio-attributed PVC. But also the proCoverTec color system, which guarantees excellent UV resistance, exceptional IR reflection as well as a beautiful matte look of, for example, our 100% circular ReFrame profile."
Van Overdijk has always been the link between the customer in the Netherlands and the factory in Germany on all kinds of current issues. From logistics to packaging, special colors and special projects. Responsibilities he will not completely let go of in his new position.
"I look forward to working with our team as well as our partners to (continue to) build a sustainable future in which Rethink, Reduce, Re-use and Recycle are the key pillars," he says.
"I also want to further strengthen the position of Kömmerling Netherlands. For example, by exploring the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). But also by deploying architect support more extensively again."
"With four profile series, three color systems and an extensive range of shapes, structures and glass degrees, we offer a durable and high-quality window frame solution in plastic for every project. Here we are happy to take the architect on board. In addition, we are happy to provide information about new products and applications." In recent years, this has mainly been done online, through our own website, social media channels and trade magazines. "But we also value personal contact. This is why we recently hired a new colleague who will focus specifically on this architect support."
The Kömmerling Nederland team will also be expanded with a new force who will partially take over the work of Remco van Overdijk and Henk Sprick. "This will keep us at full strength as an organization and create space to further intensify cooperation with other Kömmerling companies," Van Overdijk concludes. "By actively exchanging knowledge and learning from each other, we can expand the market for plastic window frames even further." Indeed, Van Overdijk sees a bright future for plastic window frames, which are the most sustainable and economical choice over a longer period of time. "The recently published TCO report window frames confirms this."
