With Arcflex, Unlumited Lighting Solutions proves that lighting does not have to be a limiting factor in an architectural design. On the contrary: it becomes an integral part of the creative vision. The light line, part of the Free Bend series, allows for pushing technical and aesthetic boundaries. Be it subtle façade lighting or dynamic lighting installations.
"Since the introduction of Arcflex, this innovative luminaire has been increasingly used for new projects," says Henk Schaap, Senior Product Manager at Unlumited Lighting Solutions. With its unique ability to bend in three directions, Arcflex offers a degree of design freedom that was unattainable until recently. "We are therefore seeing Arcflex increasingly used in projects where traditional contour lighting falls short. It is now possible to really merge the lighting with the shapes of a building."
In addition to its flexibility, Arcflex is distinguished by its robustness. The special silicone coating makes the light line resistant to a variety of weather conditions, including salty air in coastal areas. Therefore, Arcflex is not only suitable as façade lighting, but is also used in landscape and infrastructure projects.
Unlumited Lighting Solutions is noticing a growing interest from architects and lighting designers experimenting with new applications. "For a long time in the Netherlands, contour lighting was mainly used in white tones, but we see a strong emergence of dynamic lighting solutions," Schaap said. "With Arcflex, we can realize not only dimmable lighting, but also advanced RGB and pixel-controlled applications. This makes lighting not only functional, but also an expressive element in architecture."
This often involves complex issues of control and power, for which Unlumited Lighting Solutions offers appropriate solutions. "This is what we call Architainment. Through a collaboration with the Australian company X Control, we can offer creative and artistic lighting solutions
offer, where plants are programmed remotely."
Unlumited Lighting Solutions goes beyond just supplying luminaires. The company provides support for Arcflex implementation in complex projects, from technical advice to installation supervision. "We don't have customers, we have partners," Schaap explains. "For larger projects, we go with you on site and make sure the lighting is optimally integrated into the design. Our team has the expertise to advise on the correct placement of power supplies and controls, ensuring the lighting works perfectly both aesthetically and technically." With an extended 10-year warranty period, Unlumited underlines its confidence in Arcflex's durability.
All luminaires in the Free Bend series are now on display at the LIC showroom in Haarlem. Here, customers can experience the lighting in practice. "In addition, we offer training courses to familiarize users with the possibilities and applications of our solutions."
During Future Lighting, the only trade show where Unlumited Lighting Solutions will be present this year, Arcflex will have an extra spotlight. With doubled booth space, the company plans to showcase even more applications and inspire visitors with the possibilities of flexible lighting.
