Playing with light? So: custom luminaires

Configure individual lighting systems

For 40 years, Performance in Lighting has been developing lighting for professional applications. "For the luminaires that we can provide customized, we have developed a lighting configurator for our customers," says Edwin Ekamper, Account Manager North. 

The international Performance in Lighting group has its roots in Italy, while all products are developed, designed and made in the company's own factories. Almost all of the luminaires are also assembled there. Ekamper: "We offer a wide range of products. That's why we developed Light-Performer. This application enables customization and the catalog is also part of it. This allows customers to find individual luminaires quickly and easily. It is also possible to directly download the Relux, Revit and Dialux files of the luminaires."

The tool consists of four different configuration types. "In Light-Performer, the customer can create customized profiles. There is a choice of models in the 'normal' series or the new + series. The + series has been further developed, with options such as Tunable White, higher light output and improved corner pieces." 

Ekamper explains that there are, of course, several installation options to choose from. "Wall or ceiling fixtures, trimless or just with rim, or pendant fixtures. White, aluminum and black are the basic colors but all RAL colors are possible, and for the + series fixtures there is also a new black louvre." Different shading options make it possible to play with light. 

Unique individual lighting

Light-Performer thinks along with the customer and calculates the right combination of fixtures according to the desired length. "This creates an optimal profile that is light-technical ideal. The customer receives a gross price of the profile, and each project sheet is numbered. That way it can be ordered from us at once." 

As a world first, Light-Performer offers the possibility to export the assembled luminaire directly to a calculation program, such as Dialux. In the + series, it is also possible to add voltage rails in expert mode. Spotlights can be hung on these. This creates unique custom lighting, according to Performance in Lighting. 

"These are the profiles, but we have three other options. First, it is possible to configure a light line for industry, in addition we can customize some standard pendant luminaires, SL720, SL629 and Small Line. Last but not least, outdoor lighting is coming. Our new Groove21 is very suitable for customization. This is a ground recessed fixture that can create beautiful shapes, such as a wave or a circle, and offers many options, such as Tunable White and RGBW."

For the new premises of De Romein group in Veendam, Performance in Lighting supplied the lighting, installed by D&W Elektrotechniek of Veendam. "We created a total design together. We chose all custom profiles in black, in many variations, such as surface mounted, recessed and U-shaped. The customer thinks it turned out very nicely and has already asked us for a new project. The 3D visualization played a big role in the process, giving the end customer a good idea of the final result.
