For 40 years Solarlux has been the specialist in flexible glass facade solutions that guarantee generous openings, maximum transparency and a smooth transition between inside and outside. In 1983, the company started with the glass folding wall. Since then, the product range has included conservatories, garden rooms and balcony glazing that are continuously innovated and tested, with an eye for technical details, design and comfort. Solarlux's efforts in recent years have resulted in numerous innovative and distinctive products, such as cero and Megaline. New to the range are Proline T(urn) and Proline T(urn) Mega, which harmoniously combine technical details and eye-catching design.
Proline T and Proline T Mega involve a further development of the well-known and valued SL 25 and SL 25 XXL pivot-slide systems, explains Jan Jaap Hofstra, Consultant Architects at Solarlux. "We see that laws and regulations for ventilation, soundproofing and daylighting in dense inner-city areas are becoming increasingly strict and complex. For example, when developing apartment buildings, the 2012 Building Code requires the creation of a non-communal outdoor space directly accessible from the home. This outdoor space must have a minimum floor area of 4 m² and a width of 1.5 meters. This is regularly designed as a loggia / indoor balcony. However, cantilever balconies are also popular. Our SL 25 and SL 25 XXL pivot-slide systems have provided optimum soundproofing here for many years, while guaranteeing maximum daylight penetration, transparency as well as the possibility of ventilation."
The latest developments relate in particular to the aesthetics of the turn-and-slide system, says Hofstra. "The profiles of Proline T and Proline T Mega have been designed slightly tighter and more angular to the wishes of many architects. In addition, the profiles have been made slightly slimmer and the installation depth has been reduced. Whereas Profline T has a sash appearance of 30 mm (width) and 39 mm (height), Proline T Mega features a sash appearance of 30 mm (width) and 60 mm (height). The maximum sash weight is <65 and <80 kg, respectively. Glass types up to 12 and 18 mm can be fitted in the rebates, which also further improves the static properties. As desired, both laminated and tempered safety glass can be included. If laminated glass is chosen, it is secured in the system using glass drillings and pins. This effectively eliminates the risk of falling glass panes."
To take aesthetics to the very highest level, the control knob of the swivel-slide system has been moved from the center to the bottom of the glass panel, says Hofstra. "As a result, this knob is no longer conspicuous, while users can still benefit from all the operating advantages." The necessary optimizations have also been made internally. Hofstra does not want to reveal the 'secret of the smith', but he does give a hint: "The moment the wings are opened, they remain very stable in place thanks to an improved and patented locking system. Even in the event of high winds."
Upon request, Proline T and Proline T Mega can be installed in combination with the Modular and SL Plus balustrade systems on a turnkey basis. Here, clients and end users benefit from one contact person, one supplier and one warranty party for the complete system.
Proline T and Proline T Mega will be officially launched in May, but already now Solarlux can design and calculate the project-specific systems. Anyone who would like to see, feel and experience the systems in advance is welcome to visit Solarlux's showroom in Nijverdal in the near future.
