What coating can you use for your window frames and doors?

Beautiful window frames and a sleek front door: they can give a house that extra something. Machine carpentry company Van Gerwen knows that like no other: the company produces wooden windows, frames, doors and stairs. For a nice finishing touch, the frames and doors are lacquered with Aquawood Covapro 40 from Austrian paint and lacquer manufacturer ADLER. 

As with so many businesses, it all started in a barn in 2007, says Patrick van Gerwen, director of carpentry Van Gerwen. "From there, my father and I expanded the business." In 2016, the company moved into new premises at De Poortmannen business park in Heeze, where ADLER Benelux is also located. "At one point we received a request from a customer for a project that also required a certain paint. That's when I contacted Leon Cremers, director of ADLER Benelux." Since then, Van Gerwen's window frames and doors have been painted with Aquawood Covapro 40. 

Fast drying  

Van Gerwen is very pleased with ADLER's products. "I find Aquawood Covapro 40 a pleasant coating to work with. The drying time is short, so we can soon put the painted window frames together. In addition, the paint has a nice sheen," Van Gerwen says. "The finished product looks beautiful and high quality."  

Tips and short lines 

Van Gerwen explains that his customers often have specific requests, so many of their final products are customized. The same goes for the coatings used. "I therefore consult regularly with Leon Cremers. Also, ADLER Benelux often makes samples for us, which we can then test extensively." 

He appreciates that Cremers thinks along with him on this, provides tips and clearly outlines the pros and cons of using certain coatings. "The lines of communication are short in this regard, very pleasant." Cremers is also satisfied with the cooperation: "At the beginning of our cooperation, we coordinated many processes and did plenty of testing. As a result, everything now runs like clockwork!"
