'Our electronic locking system makes flexibility accessible'

This electronic locking system from BKS combines various electronic products and technologies into one modern, complete and durable system that is also very easy to install, combine and manage.

Opening, operating, closing and securing: following the motto "Securing technology for you," the Gretsch-Unitas Group offers pioneering solutions for window and door technology, automatic access systems and building management systems. The originally German family business produces and distributes, among other things, building hardware, locks, (electro)mechanical locking systems, access control systems and swing and sliding door operators of the GU, FERCO, Ela-soft and BKS brands. Popular in the range is the electronic locking system Ixalo, with which, for example, office and leisure buildings can be optimally secured and managed.

Starter kit

In utility buildings, a combination of mechanical cylinders and electronic solutions is often desirable, says Joep Breukels, Managing Director of GU Netherlands.

"Ixalo responds excellently to this. The system makes flexibility accessible." Ixalo is suitable for both individual and group doors, he says. "At the basis of the electronic locking system is a starter kit, which integrates all the ingredients for programming and operating the first button cylinder. For example, the transponder (wall reader), programming software, (free) license and a system master card. Each subsequent knob cylinder or electronic handle fitting can be easily added to the electronic locking system. On request, links to the proprietary BKS system, SE technology or RFID technology are additionally possible. The system is compatible with MIFARE Classic® and MIFARE® DESFire® and, thanks to the Key Management System, existing transponders can also be easily integrated. This also makes the Ixalo system ideally suited for existing buildings."

Many options

Implementing Ixalo does not require any cutting and breaking. No cables need to be drawn either, Breukels emphasizes. "Ixalo is a battery-operated and energy-efficient system. One battery guarantees up to 70,000 opening and closing cycles! The system with RFID also meets the highest security standard EN 15684."
Recently, for example, Ixalo products have been delivered to a vacation park in Bonaire, where access to and management of vacation homes has been greatly simplified, he says. "We have also supplied several hospitality buildings, dealer showrooms and offices. The system can even be used at home!" Optionally, the Ixalo cylinders are available with panic function, integrated radio module, in double-checked versions, as half cylinders, in IP-65 versions and with the SKG*** seal. 

"The Ixalo door hardware also meets these requirements and is available in a variant for interior doors, in SKG*** for the exterior door, single-sided or double-sided controlled, in IP-65 design and fully certified to European escape route standards. This allows us to offer a suitable solution for every project and access control requirement."
