For PERFORMANCE iN LIGHTING, light is both the raw material and the source of inspiration. For 40 years, the company has been developing lighting for professional applications. The versatile Tyk+ series is one of the latest additions to the range.

PERFORMANCE iN LIGHTING is an international group with its roots in Colognola ai Colli, Province of Verona, Italy. Production takes place here, as well as in Germany, Belgium and the United States. The company has 700 employees divided among its various branches. Account manager Jeroen Appelhof: "We offer a combination of Italian design and in-house developed technology among other things in the field of lenses."

All products of the PERFORMANCE iN LIGHTING brand are developed, designed and made in its own factories, and almost all are also assembled here.

Architectural Tyk+

Appelhof says it's a busy time: "We find that many deferred or delayed projects due to the lack of resources are all being done now, it has to be done now."

PERFORMANCE iN LIGHTING never stops developing new luminaires. One example is the Tyk+ series, for which the company received a Reddot Award in 2021. The floodlight provides effective architectural lighting in outdoor spaces.

"The Tyk+ allows the designer to illuminate horizontal and vertical surfaces with absolute precision and to dose light and shadow in a targeted manner. From a small accent on the facade or near a tree, to large surfaces or accents on a large building. From very little power to very considerable. The great thing about Tyk+ is that there is also a ground spotlight version of it available with the same properties, the Cricket+."

A wide range of light colors is available in RGBW and DALI DT8 tunable white (TW).

When the Warmteservice Group completely dismantled and rebuilt its new premises in Gouda, it chose lighting from PERFORMANCE iN LIGHTING. "For the head office in Amsterdam we previously supplied all the interior lighting, with this new building the facade lighting was important to make the premises speak in the evening."

Dolman Techniek of Gouda was responsible for the electrical installation. Different types of fixtures were chosen for the facades, OMBRA, TYK+ 20, TYK+ 30, Cricket+ 15 and SHIELD+1. The KREOS is mounted on the masts on the side of the building. "Colleagues have been on site to make lighting calculations and plans and of course to give advice. Lighting out a building can be very simple, or you can highlight specific accents such as beautiful brickwork or ornaments, Tyk+ is very suitable for that."

Sustainability from design

PERFORMANCE iN LIGHTING's goal is to design advanced lighting fixtures that not only save energy but are also sustainable. "All of our fixtures are highly recyclable. Most of them are made of aluminum and glass, materials that are easy to recycle, the plastic fixtures we make from one type of plastic to facilitate this. We have been working on this from the design stage and also use recycled materials in production. For clarity to our customers, we decided to provide all our products with an internal label stating each stage, from design to marketing."
