"It's a wonderful system!" said general manager Franck De Munster about the Frager Facade. The system came on the market late last year and offers a revolutionary magnetic solution for facade cladding. This is not only practical, but also sustainable and circular.
De Munster explains how Frager Facade works. "The system consists of two parts. The first is an aluminum frame that is bolted on. On this, via a magnetic connection, the exterior panel is mounted, in aluminum powder coating or wood imitation." The technology is the same as that of the patented Magnetude magnetic system, which Frager initially developed for doors. "Because gluing is not necessary, the possibility of experimenting with cladding arises. If aesthetic requirements change, the cladding does not have to be removed in its entirety. It is easy to choose a different color, or a different logo, for example."
Design freedom is a key advantage of Frager Facade, but certainly not the only one. "Because we don't use glue, the system is circular. The system is easy to disassemble. All elements can then be reused, or at least separated back from each other. Aluminum is also a good choice of material from an ecological point of view. It is resistant to corrosion, has an extremely long lifespan and can be completely recycled. For Frager Facade, we use mostly recycled aluminum. Moreover, during the recycling process, only 5% of the original production energy is required. That makes aluminum much more sustainable than traditional cladding."
De Munster: "Choosing a good supplier is very important. The suppliers of our aluminum sheet material are strongly committed to sustainability. In addition, they use very pure material, so we can guarantee good quality."
The sheet material is processed by Frager by cutting it to size with a water jet and powder coating it itself. "The aluminum that remains is taken back by our suppliers and is easily recyclable, so there is really no surplus. We also use as little material as possible due to the design of our profiles."
Frager Facade also fits well with a sustainable vision of building, according to De Munster. "If Mr. Rietveld had known this product, he would know what to do with it! Rietveld dreamed of a modular house, with movable exterior walls. This is really possible with our system. It is a visionary idea that is coming back now. For example, you can start with a house that has a small base, but is modularly expandable. In this way, too, Frager Facade is a sustainable product. In the near future this may already be implemented in Limburg. We are now in discussions about this."
