The secret of outdoor lighting

Lighting is an important tool for creating atmosphere. Not only inside, but also outside. This is not always easy. "We design and develop products for outdoor spaces with a strong focus on greenery," says creative manager Vincent Neven. "This is quite unique in lighting country. Knowledge from the inside out

Neven: "When developing our products, we naturally take the elements into account. Indoor lighting has nothing to do with this, but outdoor fixtures have to be waterproof and resistant to cold and heat. Through our years of experience and focus on outdoor lighting, we make quality fixtures that meet all these requirements." 

In-lite has studied indoor lighting closely and extended this knowledge to the outdoors. "The outdoor space is also becoming increasingly important. There used to be far fewer elements that we could include in the lighting plan. Nowadays, gardens are completely furnished with kitchens, outdoor living areas, etc. For all these elements we have various lighting solutions such as wall lamps, standing and hanging lamps." 

LAB shares unique knowledge

In-lite shares its knowledge by thinking along from A to Z in high-end garden projects. The in-lite LAB department is fully engaged in this. LAB Coordinator Bronos Polders: "For the largest international projects, but also for smaller domestic gardens, we make lighting plans." The company's focus here is really on perception. "We find that gardeners and landscapers sometimes find it difficult to properly light a garden. It is our passion to help with this. By choosing the right light balance, you can ensure that the garden turns into a magical place at night." 

To show what is possible, in-lite prefers to work with very realistic 3D renders. "We sell experience, not dots on a floor plan. If the customer agrees, we make a wiring plan."

According to Neven, good outdoor lighting has many advantages: "It adds something, makes it more pleasant to be outside and gives a safer feeling. For example, before our lighting was installed at Orangerie de Pol, restaurant in Doetinchem, people went home in pitch darkness. That does not feel safe, but also does not give the feeling you want to end an evening with. If you work well with light you can increase the added value of your premises." 

For a hotel in Voorburg, in-lite illuminated the entire driveway, and by lighting the right trees, a perfect mix between functionality and atmosphere was created. "Our advice is also always about limiting light at night and how to place lighting. No light pollution, but a lamp of the right size in the right place."
