To make this possible, not only the ventilation systems themselves but also room sensors, filter materials and supply and return hoses must be in optimal condition. Panflex ventilation hoses make an important contribution to this.
"Our AluGuard Plus, IsoSoft Plus and SonoSoft Plus ventilation hoses come standard with an antibacterial coating. And the other models can also be equipped with this coating, ensuring clean air free of bacteria, mold and other particles," says Commercial Manager Nick van de Klundert. "In addition, we offer ample options for acoustic and thermal insulation, so that health and comfort go hand in hand excellently."
Panflex is a 100% Dutch manufacturer of flexible smoke extraction systems and ventilation hoses. Within the company, a healthy and safe indoor climate is paramount.
"By using innovative materials and techniques, we provide comfortable homes, healthy living environments and happy buildings," says Van de Klundert. "The antibacterial coating is an excellent example of this. Our buildings are increasingly well insulated, which means that natural ventilation options are disappearing. Instead, mechanical ventilation is increasingly being chosen. Whereas certain ventilation systems provide sec in the fresh outside air supply, there are also many systems in which used inside air is (partially) recirculated. For the latter systems in particular, our antibacterial coating offers a solution."
The exhausted indoor air from homes, offices, schools and hospitals, for example, contains dust, bacteria, mold, dander and other particles, among other things, which can deposit on the inside of the exhaust hoses.
"For health and hygiene reasons and to ensure optimal operation of the ventilation system, without resistance, it is important to clean the hoses regularly," Van de Klundert knows.
"In practice, however, this cleaning is (too) often forgotten. By applying a nano-silver-based coating in our AluGuard Plus, IsoSoft Plus and SonoSoft Plus ventilation hoses, we ensure that the ducts stay clean longer. This is because bacteria and mold cannot adhere and/or reproduce on the coating. The antimicrobial effect also prevents health complaints such as headaches, fatigue, sleep problems and lung diseases. The coating system has no effect on the environment and is completely ecological and odor-free."
In addition to antibacterial coatings, Panflex offers various options for thermal and acoustic insulation, minimizing, for example, machine noise or crosstalk. Thermal and acoustic insulation uses 100% itch-free insulation wool and high-quality silencers. "All our ventilation hoses comply with the highest European fire class and are practically non-combustible, in accordance with NEN-EN 13501-1."
In order to ensure not only a healthy but also a safe indoor environment, Panflex also offers an extensive range of flue gas discharge hoses, shaft outlets, roof finishes and concentric boiler connections, ensuring a 100% airtight flue gas outlet.
"Whereas traditional central heating boilers had a parallel connection, with one pipe for the flue and one pipe for the air supply, with a concentric connection the flue is enclosed by the air supply," Van de Klundert said.
"As a result, in the event of a leak, the flue gases do not enter the home directly, but remain in the air supply duct. If this duct is fouled, the central heating boiler will immediately fail, greatly reducing the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Installers and end users have a choice of ROAX PPS plastic or stainless steel INOX systems from Panflex. "The plastic systems are distinguished by their light weight. In addition, the systems are very flexible, so they can easily be fed through existing ductwork."
For old chimney flues with many bends, however, Van de Klundert recommends stainless steel systems, which guarantee optimum robustness, durability (recyclable) and safety. Both systems feature a smooth inner surface, resulting in minimal air resistance.
