Design visionaries gather for Workspace Design Show in 2023

Amsterdam will host the Workspace Design Show in October 2023, an event focused on vision and innovation in workplace interiors and design. One of the biggest highlights will be the Workspace Design Talks, where a group of world-class experts in workplace strategy and design will come together to develop the future workplace experience for employees.

With an impressive lineup of speakers and exhibitors, the Workspace Design Show will be a unique experience for designers, architects, developers, contractors and end users from the Benelux market. This is your chance to get a glimpse of the future of workplaces and learn from the leaders shaping the industry.

The list of confirmed speakers is a who's who of design experts, including senior-level representatives from leading architecture and design firms such as MVRDV, Fokkema & Partners, UNStudio, Powerhouse, D/DOCK, HofmanDujardin, MVSA, de Architekten Cie, Tetris, Ditt Officemakers. A number of end-user real estate experts will also share their insights, with companies including Booking.com, ING, Ernst & Young, Rabobank, Ericsson, Just Eat, Miro, Philips, CBRE and Cushman & Wakefield: view the full list here.

On how companies are using design to attract and retain talent, Hans Reineke, Founding Partner at Hollandse Nieuwe, says: "The physical workplace is best suited to curate and experience an organization's unique values and identity. This experience is crucial for current and future employees to connect at all levels of the senses within an organization. This connection (and participation) will help create a preference over others on the grounds that it is both unique and outstanding in its appearance."

Natalie Hoffman, International Advisor at Facility Management Netherlands, provides insight into how workplace design will change in 2023: "Looking at developments around the world, we see that labor shortages will continue in the coming years. All organizations will be thinking about how to attract and retain talent. Increasing salaries, finding talent outside the country, offering hybrid forms of work, divesting from real estate, as well as creating a healthy work environment will lead to a search for creative solutions. Generation Alpha is expected to become the wealthiest, most educated and technologically savvy generation growing up as the world burns."

Arjan de Roos, Rabobank product manager, also contributed, "In line with our strategy, the hybrid way of working at Rabobank is not based on rules but on principles. The principles underlying our approach are working from a digital first perspective, scheduling time to meet colleagues and meet others. Autonomy and teamwork are equally important, allowing a mix per team of working from home, in the Rabo houses or anywhere else."

Esha Bark-Jones, Show Director of Workspace Design Show for London and Amsterdam notes, "I have seen first-hand how workplaces have already begun to shift toward collaborative and flexible work environments. After COVID, designers are aware of what they put into workplaces and how they will be effective for the people who use them every day. This shift will only continue from 2023. Moreover, the landscape for workspace and commercial real estate design in Amsterdam is both creative and challenging. In this environment, it is essential to stay abreast of new trends, technology and regulations to create an optimal workplace."

The list of topics to be discussed is growing by the day, and the team behind the event has made sure to include the best of the best to ensure attendees have a unique and engaging event experience. The show will also feature several interactive components that will give attendees a chance to experience the latest in sustainable design and how a workplace experience and culture can be designed to attract employees.

In addition to the conference, the show will feature a number of top exhibitors from the Netherlands and across Europe, including Interstuhl, Vepa, Expormim, Kettal, Mute, Girsberger, Tarkett, OCS+, Rockwool, Occony and De Blick, who will transform the show floor into an array of spaces where visitors can touch, feel and experience design.

The Workspace Design Show will be an unmissable event for everyone involved in commercial design, from architects and designers to end users, business owners and entrepreneurs. There will also be networking events and social gatherings for guests to connect with exhibitors in a casual atmosphere. With a focus on fun and creativity, the show is a perfect opportunity for industry professionals to make new contacts, learn from each other and learn from each other.

If you are a workspace professional, this is THE event to attend. Workspace Design Show will take place from October 11 - 12, 2023 at the RAI in Amsterdam - mark your calendar!
