New range of colored ceiling tiles 'Colours of Wellbeing'

Rockfon will introduce Colours of Wellbeing at the end of February: an updated range of colored ceiling tiles featuring colors from nature that have a positive impact on our well-being.

Selected in collaboration with international color experts, the 34 new Rockfon Color-all® colors align with four modern design trends: Uncluttered Wabi-Sabi, Calm Enclosure, Biophilic Awareness and Technology.

The new color palette consists of natural colors and shades of gray that mix & match perfectly with each other. This allows architects and clients to create color combinations and designs that allow them to put their own unique stamp on the space. The colors can be divided into four different color groups, each of which has its own effect on how we feel. For example, blue colors provide tranquility, green tones for creativity, yellow tones for confidence and red tones for strength.

Karen Haller and Sara Garanty are both authorities on the use of color. They were also involved in putting together this new assortment. According to Haller, color influences us throughout the day. "However, we are only 20 percent aware of the choices or decisions we make based on color. Each color triggers emotional responses that can have a positive or less favorable effect. In addition, a color is stimulating or calming. With color, you have the ability to design spaces that really make a difference: you can help people sleep better, reduce stress, or actually increase productivity."

Sara Garanty is a self-proclaimed "color addict," studied at the IED University of Design in Barcelona and specializes in color theory and psychology with the goal of promoting positive change and well-being. How did she start selecting 34 colors?

"It has been a year-and-a-half process that began with an intensive collaboration with three trend watchers on design and colors. We dyed 400 potential colors on A3 sheets and then began the challenging process of finally selecting 34 colors that would fit emerging trends and at the same time could evoke the feeling of well-being. Color is a dance between your brain and the world. Each color is its own universe, unfolding differently and evoking different feelings and emotions in us."
