Shaw Contract introduces Shifting Fields collection

Shifting Fields is the latest carpet tile collection from designer manufacturer Shaw Contract EMEA. Inspired by the constant transitions in our natural environment, Shifting Fields features three styles of carpet tiles designed to work together in various types of commercial interiors.

The relationships between land, air, water and the horizon are constantly changing. As these landscapes shift, our natural world adapts. Shifting Fields, in the age of flexible working and the need to design for ever-changing environments, mimics these transitions. This creates more balanced and connected environments indoors.

Inspired by nature

The new collection is made from Shaw's 100% recycled EcoSolution Q100 fiber and is produced in the company's own carbon-neutral factory in Sanquhar, Scotland. It is available as a 50 x 50 cm carpet tile in three styles: Plains, Landing and Landing Edge.

Plains is available in nine nature-inspired colors, including Desert, Pristine, Remote, Tide, Evergreen, Coast, Sunset, Stone and Reservoir. Depending on the installation method Landing Edge-tiles, which are available in six colors, are used as a stand-alone element to create distinctive designs. A border or seamless transition is created between Plains and Landing-tiles as you move from one room to another. Landing is available in three colors.

Sustainable design considerations

Kerry Deffley, Design Manager EMEA at Shaw Contract said, "Shifting Fields is a collection that can be used in a variety of environments. It offers the designer opportunities to create subtle transitions in color and pattern. Colors such as Sunset in this collection can also be combined with our other carpet tile collections, creating a whole range of new design possibilities."

Shaw Contract is committed to ingredient transparency and material health. That's why this is Cradle to Cradle® Bronze certified and available with Shaw's TaskWorx® carpet backing, which contains 75% recycled material.

Alternatively, the collection can be installed with the ComfortWorx® backing. For this backing, 90% post-consumer PET bottles are used. This provides a solution for both acoustic comfort and step comfort.

Shifting Fields is also Indoor Air Comfort Gold certified for low-emission products. This illustrates Shaw's emphasis on quality and how it contributes to a healthier indoor environment. Shifting Fields is one of Shaw Contract's carbon-neutral collections.

At the end of their useful life, the carpet tiles are reclaimed and recycled by Shaw Contract through its proprietary `reTURN' recovery program for customers throughout EMEA. The tiles can be reused in keeping with Shaw Contract's commitment to sustainable products and the circular economy.
