A piece of history

The success story of Indu Doors® starts in 2014 in Ede, when founder Arnold Boorsma of Timmerfabriek Boorsma produces beautiful industrial interior doors with slim profiles and glass as an alternative to the then growing market of steel doors. "After further developing these doors and introducing our oak doors - which started with an application on a houseboat in Amsterdam - we saw that the demand for sustainable exclusive wooden doors was growing," says Reinanda Boorsma, assistant manager at Indu Doors®. "By responding to this as well and by applying economies of scale, through our own premises, showroom and in-house production, we have established a new trend that is catching on in the Netherlands and abroad. Through our showroom we want to give architects, interior stylists and their clients plenty of inspiration and good technical advice for their projects. Because our craftsmen have years of experience in manufacturing doors, we are the solution for every custom project!"

Make an entrance

In the showroom of Indu Doors®, visitors can see and experience all door arrangements. "Especially exclusive custom doors predominate with us," said Boorsma. "Every door type is possible; from hinged doors to pivot doors, sliding doors and en-suite doors in a niche, where a wide range of wood types, rod arrangements, door infills and colors maximize the senses and help bring visions to life." 

The showroom was designed by Frederiek van Dijk and Marjanne van Donselaar of LODD Interior Architects, who wanted above all to highlight the exclusivity, sophistication and craftsmanship of Indu Doors®. "By working with open spaces, real materials, unusual shapes and surprising detailing, the doors are given exactly the stage they deserve," she says. "Visitors enter on raw oak, which soon turns into a cast floor. The lighting is done in beautiful bronze tones, while concrete ciré was chosen for the washrooms. Also special is the wooden staircase, which has detailing that is particularly appealing to architects. A large window to the factory gives visitors a unique glimpse into the kitchen of Indu Doors®."

The new showroom was recently opened during the open day of Indu Doors®, where over 700 enthusiastic business associates, employees and family members were able to admire all the wonderful innovations. From the new machinery to the showroom. 

Beautiful and slender detailing

Indu Doors® interior doors are distinguished by high quality and exclusive design. As an interior designer, Van Dijk is particularly pleased with the beautiful and slender detailing. "When two doors are chosen, the lines are right," she says. "Moreover, the handles come out of the wood very nicely. The masses don't get that done." Boorsma: "As an organization, we now have 10 years of experience in exclusive interior doors. Moreover, we make use of more than 30 years of experience and craftsmanship of the carpentry factory, which means that our craftsmen know exactly what wood can do and how it should be processed. In doing so, we have an emphatic eye for sustainability."

A tree for every project

In particular, oak, mahogany, bamboo, accoya and fraké are used to produce the interior doors, she says. "To make the beautiful doors, in addition to attention and craftsmanship, sufficient raw materials are needed. We find it very important that the wood we use is harvested in a good and responsible manner. This is why we work exclusively with PEFC and FSC® certified wood, which comes from sustainably managed forests. We also plant a tree with every project we deliver, so that the generation after us can also enjoy a healthy and
green living environment."
